Hello everyone!

Today I will talk about a website and an author important for our professional training as Public Administrators. In the course of our career there is a lot of information that we must collect and having a good source to do it is essential.

As future professionals, we must work with the contingent issues of society, therefore, it is necessary know about the policies public, programs or laws that are being implemented in the present.

The library of the national congress It is a website that helps us with this need. This page is a common service of the Senate and Chamber of Deputies, whose mission is

be the main reference of information and relevant, reliable and politically neutral knowledge for the Parliamentary Community; and an inclusive institution that offers all its stakeholders its bibliographic, documentary, legal and political history of the country. 

Here we can make a review of the laws executed and have access to a variety of information for our civic training. As a student, day by day I use this page for my works and to enrich my kanowledge about the foundations governing our actions.

Besides this page, I think it is important to mention an author who has followed me since my first year of University to the present. This author is Max Weber (1864-1920), who was a philosopher, economist, jurist, historian, political scientist and German sociologist, considered one of the founders of the modern study of sociology and public administration.

His writings have contributed much to the study of Public Administration, allowing is tudying various theories about what public work, the economy and society.

In my opinion, Max Weber must be a guide in the management of the government and the policy for any Public Administrator. Their knowledge is part of the foundation of our training.

Gender roles and stereotypes

Hello everyone,

Today I will talk about an important topic. This is: gender roles and stereotypes.

As we know, the gender roles they are defined as the set of social norms and behavior that are considered appropriate for men and women of a group and social system give.

Gender stereotypes, on the other hand, they are categorized as the "natural" differences between men and women. That is, how to man and woman should be and behave "by nature".

During to my infancy, I studied at a Catholic school and it was here that I learned these ideas of behavior is very permeate in the society.

Since we were kids they have made us believe that the color pink is for women and the color blue is for men. They have  taught us the women what are we more sensitive and delicate, while the man they are rude and strong.

The woman must be the owner of the house and the man must dedicate himself to work and "develop."  This is why in many moments the men show superiority position in fron the women and injustices are growg. They want to keep us submissive but little by little we are empowering ourselves. 

In my opinion, being a man or a woman can't be a conditional. People must be free to develop as they wish regardless of sex and all the social factors that may exist. It's time to eliminate the gaps!

Good moment

Hello everyone,

The photo that I will comment about in this post it is a important moment in my life. This picture was taken the day of my graduation, by my side are my mom and dad accompanying me as usual. Af the moment of this photo I had just finished the ceremony an had the emotions to flower of skin. 

I remember that I was very excited. To think that it would be the last moment next to my classmates they accompanied me most of my life it's sad.  When leaving high school we leave behind a million memories and many people who accompanied us in the process. After seeing everyday to those people, you can see them with luck 3 times a month and it is never the same. That process is hard. 

The secondary sees you grow, see you change and mature. The secondary I form you as a person to face the world. 

From that moment everything would change. From that moment I would start to fight for getting my dreams and undertake other directions.

My favourite hobbies / pastimes

Good day!

Today I will talk about my favourite pastimes. Thet must be clear that always is good take time for oneself and do things that you enjoy.
One of my favourite pastimes are watching movies and series. I really like romantic movies, as for example: the noteebook and the vow, but my favourite movie are those of Harry Potter. Among my favourite series are Game of Thrones and Prison Break. I am fascinated by these series, the story of both is incredible and exciting!

My second favourite pastimes is reading books of fantasy and science fiction. As I mentioned earlier, since was a child I like Harry Potter, so when I grew up I started reading all the books in this saga. I like the magical world and escape a bit from reality.

Finally, In addition to this, I like to go shopping and go for a walk in the park con my friends, my mom or my boyfriend on sunny days eating an rich ice-cream or any whim you have in mind (long live the food!).

Mentioning this I would like to learn how the cooking much more than I know until now (sweet and salty food). It's in my future plans and might become in one of my favourite hobbies.

What's Your Favourite Piece of Technology?

Hello again people!

Today I will speak about what is my favourite piece of technology. To be honest, I had never asked me this question personally, but would say what the cellphone. The cellphone is a equipment what receives and send out communication a long distance, is small size and portable, so that allows ups talk since everyone place. I have it with me all day, in case of any emergency or need. 

I use this technological device mainly for  communicate with my friends and family from a distance, given the not always they are near. We live in another city at present. Besides, I use my social networks to have fun, to see news and inform me of what happens in society. I use my cellphone approximately 5 hours a day. 

The cellphone like because it is very comfortable and makes my life easier, given the keeps me close to my friends and family and can I share my experiences and memories instantly with my contacts.

Besides, I enjoy a lot diverse applications. It's amazing that with only one application they can take you the food to your house!

Out of this, its a instrument very useful for university life, because the emails arrive immediately and we can take you them instantly.

I can not imagine life without a cell phone,  without instant communication it would be very difficult to live now given the facilities that we are they contribute. Every time increase

its technological innovation.

Why Did You Choose This Career / Course?

Hi everyone.
To start, as a little girl I dreamed of being many things. We usually imagine life much simple than it really is and we let our imagination fly. In the first instance, I wanted to be hairdresser, even I cut my hair myself (a madness). Later I wanted to be a doctor, teacher, work for Teleton, etc. Always with the focus of working for or near people.

When I grew I was being conscious of what it really means to study and

devote yourself to something for the rest of your life, so I went looking for my real interests and what options could satisfy those interests. Thus, once finished high school, I was undecided between two options: Psychology and Public Administration. At the time of know the results of the university selection test I was satisfied, because I had done well and could freely choose what I wanted to study. After thinking about it for a couple of days I decided to study Public Administration. I wanted to study this career given the possibilities I had of working for a direct change in society. This career It has a very complete and diverse student mesh, that gives us the ability to know about many areas, whether humanistic or something scientific.

My experience until now at the University has been very pleasant. I like the atmosphere that is lived between companions. I am grateful for the good friends I have managed to make, that have supported me in many moments. Initially, It was difficult to get used to Santiago and his lifestyle. Being a field person I am used to tranquility, but little by little I have been taking the pleasure of this city, although I always miss my family.  The University has required much more dedication and effort compared to the school, but that's what the process is about. I am very happy with the decision to study Public Administration at the University of Chile, the University of my dreams since I was little.

In the future I would like to work in being part of the Contraloría General de la República, because it seems to me a very important organ at a social level and interesting for my professional training. I am also interested in being part of a public service focused mainly on manage vulnerabilities and inequalities in society, such as the Ministry of Social Development, the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare, etc. To get this, I would like to continue expanding my studies with doctorates or master's degree related to the area that I am most interested. Anyway, I think that I have much time to decide yet.

My Autobiography

My name is Tania Cornejo Abarca. I was born in Santiago, Chile, on January 14th, 2000.  I study Public Administration in the Universidad of Chile. I am the first of my family in study at the University and I feel very happy about it.  I have a sister of 35 years and a brother of 30 years. Mi older sister name is Paola, She is a secretary, is married and has two children, Maximiliano of 16 years and Florencia of 7 years. My brother is agricultural engineer and he's a football fan. Mi father is a master builder and my mom is housewife. I live with parent and my brother in Apalta, a rural town located in the city of Rengo. I love living in the countryside because then environment is very nice. I like to enjoy the tranquility and nature. Intimately, I am a person very sensitive, anxious, cheerful and amorous. I am very worried person about my family, friends and boyfriend. My best friends are Sofia Barrios and Macarena Marchant. My boyfriend is called Benjamin Gonzalez, he is student civil construction in the Pontificia Universidad Catolica of Chile.

In my free time, I like listening to music and read fantasy books and novels romantics. My favourite musical group is Pearl Jam and Coldplay. I'am fan of the saga of Harry Potter. In addition, i love watching series and movies. My favourite serie is Game of Thrones, I'm so excited waiting the last season.                                                                                                                                                        My hobbies are go to the beach, go for ride a bike and go shopping. I love watch the sunset on the beach.
